About This Role:
As the Sr. Manager of Clinical Program Sourcing & Contract Management (CPSCM), you will lead a dedicated team of contracting professionals, reporting to the Associate Director of CPSCM. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end sourcing and contracting support for global clinical trials, spanning multiple therapeutic areas and study phases. Your leadership will ensure the accurate intake of specifications, high-quality budget development, and the timely execution of all necessary documentation. This position plays a crucial role in translating study forecasts into resource plans, optimizing workload distribution, and ensuring consistent delivery across programs. By partnering closely with Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, and Category Management, you will enhance contracting readiness and cross-functional execution. Your contributions will drive process improvements, support new tool adoption, and ensure adherence to compliance standards, ultimately strengthening Biogen’s clinical development delivery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 sourcing and contracting professionals, ensuring high performance and accountability.
  • Conduct weekly operational reviews to monitor and balance workload distribution and priorities.
  • Oversee the development and execution of Statements of Work (SOWs), amendments, and documentation packages.
  • Serve as the escalation point for operational issues, resolving them effectively.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching and best practice sharing.
  • Oversee sourcing and contracting deliverables for high-complexity vendor categories.
  • Provide guidance on complex specifications, pricing, and negotiation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to align resource plans with program forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial governance and maintain inspection-ready documentation.
  • Lead process improvements and technology enablement efforts within CPSCM.
  • Represent CPSCM in cross-functional meetings and compliance forums.
  • Support organizational transitions and special projects requiring contracting expertise.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Life Sciences, or related field).
  • 7+ years of procurement, sourcing, or contract management experience in biotech/pharma or similarly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams in a high-volume, matrixed clinical environment.
  • Expertise in specification development, scope validation, and budget modeling.
  • Proven ability to negotiate within established MSA frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a disciplined compliance mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree and/or legal/contracting background.
  • Procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM/C.P.M.).
  • Experience in process improvement and change management initiatives.

The base compensation range for this role is: zł207,000.00-zł285,000.00
