About This Role:
As the Director of Finance for the US Rare Disease sector, you will report directly to the Head of Finance (CFO) at Biogen North America. Your strategic partnership with the SVP of the Rare Disease Franchise and the SVP of Felzartamab will be pivotal in driving financial planning, analysis, and decision support. This role is integral in fostering growth, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring robust financial governance across the Rare Disease portfolio. You will blend strategic thought and operational execution, collaborating cross-functionally to support commercial products, lifecycle management, and long-term value creation. With full accountability for the US Rare Disease P&L, including Gross/Net Revenue, Cost of Goods, and Operating Expenses, you will regularly engage with finance leadership and senior leaders across various functions.
What You’ll Do:
· Partner with Rare Disease leadership to shape financial strategy and ensure alignment with Biogen North America’s overall objectives.
· Provide insights on market trends, revenue drivers, and investment opportunities to inform decision-making.
· Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for the US Rare Disease business.
· Monitor performance against the Annual Operating Plan and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations.
· Drive decisions on pre-launch investments, growth products, and legacy portfolio optimization.
· Ensure disciplined allocation of resources to maximize return on investment.
· Collaborate with Commercial, Medical, Market Access, and Supply Chain teams to ensure financial alignment on key initiatives.
· Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial implications of strategic choices.
· Ensure adherence to Biogen’s financial policies and controls.
· Collaborate with investor relations on finance related communications
· Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
Who You Are:

You possess the leadership skills to influence and guide senior stakeholders, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making. Your attention to detail and exceptional communication skills set you apart, enabling you to present complex financial insights with clarity and precision.
Required Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
· 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles in FP&A or commercial finance.
· Strong understanding of pharmaceutical/biotech industry, preferably in Rare Disease or specialty care.
· Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
· Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
· MBA with post-MBA experience in management consulting, investment banking, or finance roles within pharma/biotech.
· Commercial Finance experience strongly suggested.

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
