Internship Description:

As a Research Intern at RA Capital, you will be an integral part of our Research Team, contributing to the company’s scientific research efforts by collecting, streamlining, and organizing detailed data. Research interns will gain exposure to internal and external third-party databases to enable the collection, curation, and management of large data sets to support diverse company initiatives. This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for college students interested in life science investing. You will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting, gain valuable skills, and make meaningful contributions to our research efforts. Interns will report to the Research Managers.

Candidates must be eager to experiment with ways to incorporate AI into their work to be more efficient and effective. RA Capital is looking for people who are proactive about using AI where possible, looking for new tools and even creating new tools; AI is transforming our work, and we are specifically looking for AI-forward people to ensure that we are leveraging these tools to make us as effective as possible.

Mentoring/Managing Opportunities:

• You will be assigned a dedicated mentor from our research team who will provide guidance, support, and feedback throughout the internship.
• Regular check-ins and feedback sessions with your manager/mentor to review progress, discuss projects, and address any questions or challenges.
• Opportunities to collaborate with and learn from professionals in finance, biotechnology, and investment analysis.

Key Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in a relevant field (biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, finance, economics, or related disciplines).
• Strong interest in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare industries.
• Familiarity with scientific literature and ability to critically analyze scientific data.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Excel, programming languages are a bonus) and experience leveraging AI in either a project or work-related setting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts clearly.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team.

Location & Length of Internship:

• The internship will be a full-time position lasting 10-12 weeks over the summer months, with a target start date of June 1, 2026. We can accommodate academic schedules and flex the end date for return to school. You will asked to come in on a hybrid working model in our downtown Boston office. in the office Monday-Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

• The internship is based in Boston, no relocation or housing assistance is provided.

Compensation & Internship Experience

This is a paid, hourly internship position. Compensation is competitive within the industry and commensurate with experience and level of study. Eligibility for additional benefits may vary based on the duration and structure of the internship.

Massachusetts Internship Hourly Pay Range

$20 - $30 USD
