Job Description

Vaxess Technologies is developing next generation vaccines and therapies based on its proprietary silk technology.
MIMIX™ enables sustained intradermal delivery of vaccines and therapeutics to enhance efficacy and simplify

Research & development at Vaxess is cross-disciplinary, integrating biology, chemistry, immunology, materials
science, and engineering to address important unmet medical needs in vaccines and therapeutics. We are seeking
a talented, collaborative, and highly motivated individual with expertise in analytical methods for large molecules
to join our core team of scientists and engineers in the Quality Control department. The associate will execute
Quality Control testing and associated operations as well as develop analytical assays to support the current and
future Vaxess products. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an emerging early phase clinical company
bringing innovative technology to the global market.
 
Responsibilities
 
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
● Execute experiments for developing analytical test methods for use in process development support and
ultimately cGMP testing within timelines
● Understand cGMP assay qualification/ validation protocols and reports, and execute routine QC testing
● Write and perform cGMP assays and SOPs, maintain cGMP laboratory equipment and documentation
● Familiarity with protein characterization techniques such as HPLC, SEC, DLS, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, UV-Vis, and
potency assays
● Troubleshoot challenging technical, experimental, and instrumental issues
● Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
● Contribute to experimental planning; analyze data, communicate results, and present work in team
meetings
● Consummate ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, cross-functional environment, with
superior oral and written communication skills
● Maintain an accurate and high standard for laboratory records, electronic lab notebook entries, including
up-to-date data records
 
Qualifications
 
● Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of related experience or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of industrial
experience in a related field
● Hands-on experience in developing and executing methods for protein characterization
● Experience in immune-based assays, HPLC, SEC, DLS, SDS-PAGE, UV-Vis, and ELISA
● Experience working in a QC/GMP laboratory is a plus
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Committed to working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
