Job Description

RA Capital Management (RACM) is a multi-stage investment manager dedicated to evidence-based investing in public and private healthcare and life science companies, and private planetary health companies.

RAVentures (RAVen), the in-house incubator of RACM, is the venture- and company creation-focused division which houses a collaborative environment for exploring new opportunities. While this role is focused on healthcare services and related areas, much of the team consists of drug hunters and company builders who are focused on discoveries and advancements in chemistry, molecular and cellular biology, genome engineering, synthetic biology, and other technologies and therapeutic programs to create novel companies that may address unsolved challenges for patients. RAVen also provides expert operational support tailored to the specific needs of new and early-stage biotech and healthcare services companies.

  • Develop initial business plans, operating budgets, and key value inflection points for new companies to ensure they have a solid foundation for growth.
  • Partner with finance teams to structure and execute financing and capitalization strategies critical for new company development.

  • Assist in valuation analysis and cap table development for new companies to ensure financial viability and attractiveness to investors.
  • Cultivate relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and stakeholders in the startup ecosystem to build a network that supports new company creation and growth.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of industry experience with at least 3 years in strategy/management consulting within the healthcare services sector.
  • 3+ years of experience with a healthcare services company, ideally in an operational capacity.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to create pro forma and assess payer systems critical for new company planning.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the healthcare services landscape, emerging technologies, and market trends that drive company creation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for new companies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working autonomously with attention to detail and a focus on company building.
